Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) Grants for Robotics Teams Now Available!

The Texas Workforce Commission, in partnership with the REC Foundation, is pleased to offer assistance to Texas high schools interested in starting a sanctioned UIL Robotics team in the state's largest and fastest-growing academic robotics competition platform. The number of High School RECF-VEX robotics competition teams in Texas alone has grown year-over-year with a net increase of over 35% over the last 4 years!

Team grants provide the resources necessary to get educators started with fielding a UIL team(s). This includes up to two robot kits, a competition field, game elements for the field, coach training, and season registration.

REC Foundation will be setting aside a large number of grants specifically available for TREA member districts. These grants have a value of up to $3,750 each plus guidance on how to proceed once the grant is received. Remember that the unique aspect of the RECF-VEX competition is that the Robotics Team Sponsor does not have to have a technical background at all. It is a student-centered process.
